The Postman – un collettivo anonimo
The Postman è in realtà una collaborazione di due artisti con sede a Brighton che creano paste-up basati su musicisti, attori e altri iconici della cultura popolare. Appaiono in tutta Brighton e in tutto il mondo, tra cui Los Angeles, New York e Hong Kong.

Tell us a little about yourself (Name, age, city of birth and city where you are most active artistically speaking, etc.)
We are an anonymous collective and wish to not disclose any of this information.
Quando e come avete iniziato a creare le vostre opere d’arte? Da dove nasce la vostra passione ?
Abbiamo una passione per la street art da molti anni. The Postman è nato nel 2018.
When and how did you start creating your works of art? Where does your passion come from?
We have had a passion for street art for many years. The Postman was born in 2018.
Quando preparate una nuova opera seguite uno schema creativo ricorrente o molto è influenzata dal momento? Raccontateci come nascono le vostre opere.
Immagino che in una certa misura abbiamo uno schema, ma miriamo sempre a rompere gli schemi e trovare nuove idee.
When you prepare a new work, do you follow a recurring creative pattern or is it very influenced by the moment? Tell us how your works are born.
I guess we have a pattern to some extent, but we always aim to break patterns and come up with new ideas.
Che tecnica utilizzi? Hai sempre usato quella o hai cambiato nel tempo? Se sì, perchè?
Lavoriamo con una serie di mezzi e tecniche. Dalla vernice spray agli stencil, ai collage e agli elementi digitali. Impariamo sempre cose nuove.
What technique do you use? Did you always use that or did it change over time? If so, why?
We work with a number of mediums and techniques. From spray paint to stencils, collages and digital elements. We learn new things all the time.
Cosa vuoi trasmettere con le tue opere?
Diffondere amore e nostalgia è il nostro obiettivo principale.
What do you want to convey with your works?
Spreading love and nostalgia is our main aim.
Cosa ne pensi della street art in Italia e all’estero?
L’Italia ha degli artisti fantastici. Non abbiamo ancora avuto il piacere di esporre i nostri lavori in nessuna città italiana, ma speriamo che questo accada in futuro.
What do you think of street art in Italy and abroad?
Italy has some fantastic artists. We haven’t yet had the pleasure of putting our works up in any italian cities, but we hope this will happen sometime in the future.
Quanto tempo ti ci vuole per preparare un’opera, dall’idea al muro?
Questa è una domanda delicata. Immagino che la risposta sia: “Dipende tutto”. Le dimensioni del muro, la complessità dell’argomento su cui stiamo lavorando, il mezzo e la posizione giocano tutti un ruolo.
How long does it take you to prepare a work, from the idea to the wall?
That’s a tricky question. I guess the answer is: ‘It all depends.’ The size of the wall, complexity of the topic we are working with, medium and location all play a part.
Come ti vedi tra dieci anni artisticamente parlando?
Con molta speranza avremmo diffuso il nostro lavoro in molti altri paesi.
How do you see yourself artistically speaking in ten years?
Hopefully we would have spread our work in many more countries.
Hai collaborato con altri artisti stranieri o ti piacerebbe?chi sarebbe e perché ammiri particolarmente questo artista?
Collaboriamo regolarmente con artisti e fotografi di tutto il mondo. È una parte molto importante del nostro processo. Ammiriamo un certo numero di fotografi ma preferiamo non dirne i nomi.
Have you collaborated with other foreign artists or would you like? Who would it be and why do you particularly admire this artist?
We collaborate with artists and photographers from all over the world on a regular basis. It’s a very important part of our process. We admire a number of photographers but prefer not to drop names.
Mentori: c’è un’artista da cui prendi ispirazione? Se sì, chi è? In che modo ti ha aiutato?
La nostra arte viene spesso definita pop art e come tale ci ispiriamo a Warhol. Ci sono molti grandi artisti che ammiriamo e dai quali ci ispiriamo.
Mentors: is there an artist from whom you take inspiration? If so, who is it? How did it help you?
Our art is often referred to as pop art and as such, we take inspiration from Warhol. There are many great artists we admire and get inspired by.
